“until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts”

JP: Brief thoughts on our text for tomorrow.

The “morning star” (Greek: φωσφόρος | Transliteration = phōsphoros) in 2 Peter 1:19 speaks of Venus which is known as the morning star.

The text for Sunday September 18th (2 Peter 1:15-21) speaks of the relationship between the voice of God, the Word of God, and the presence of God. The rising of Venus precedes the arrival of the brilliance of full daylight. And so we await the coming of our Savior. His transfiguration was a preview of what we will see and experience.
