Imputed Righteousness

Romans 4:3

Imputed Righteouness

JP: Our Bible study this week (4/8/09) will be from Romans chapter 4. Please read this chapter in advance of our study. Also read three chapters from Genesis: chapter 15, 17, and 22.

Our study notes are available here.

This quotation from Alva McClain provides a summary of the chapter.

Alva McClain, The Gospel of God’s Grace – Romans, p 120:

This chapter of Romans contains the whole history of redemption. It began with life from the dead, because Abraham, the father of Israel, was an old man; it ended with Jesus Christ, raised from the dead. The beginning and the end: life from the dead (Romans 4:24-25). The only way we can apprehend and secure the benefits of redemption is by simple faith in God, for ‘without faith it is impossible to please Him’ (Hebrews 11:6). That is the argument of this chapter.
