Wednesday 2/13 lesson

Please read Ephesians 1:15-23.

Consider researching other versions using biblegateway.com.

If you wish, dig deeper using blueletterbible.org.

Because of the complexity of vss. 17-23, we will cover this in greater detail the week following.

Thought questions:

  1. What is the theme of this section? (Explain & defend)
  2. What motivated Paul’s actions / efforts?
  3. What does the text tell us about the character of these believers?
  4. Does the text imply that we ought to pray for people by name?
  5. How important should the “faith community” be to the believer?
  6. What are the dangers of “going it alone” .. the “lone-ranger” / “disconnected believer”? Have you ever been one these? Why? What can one do to avoid?
  7. What are some “take aways” from this lesson?

Reminder: Pool at Kathee and Jim’s house this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. So far three have indicated that they will come. Ask for directions on Wednesday. (If you are brave, you can drive right across Medicine Lake to our house. Enter at Hardies’ boat ramp and drive N and exist at Clifford French park! I understand the ice is 18″ thick!). I don’t think we will have any food, but we will at least have pop.

Some may be interested in signing up for the Men for Christ event that will be hosted by Fourth Baptist this year.

God bless you,

Jim
