Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians was that “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,” (1:18)
The child of God has hope!
The unsaved? They are “without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.” (Ephesians 2:12)
The child of God has an inheritance!
The lost? “For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God” (Ephesians 5:5).
There is a stark difference between the saved and the lost. I trust that this would motivate us to:
- Realize the greatness of the privilege of knowing Christ!
- Endeavor to herald the Gospel to others.
- Live lives that are in harmony with our high calling.
